Frequently Asked Tax Help Questions

  1. Can you tell me over the phone (today) what IRS will settle with me for?

No, no one can, need an analysis.

  2. But XYZ Company said I can settle for pennies on a dollar owed to IRS, can you?

No, we will not tell you something only to sell you and then let you down later.

  3. Can’t I do this myself?

If you could, it probably would be solved by now, we understand the IRS system, procedures, and laws – this is necessary to get through the involved bureaucratic system that stymies 99% of taxpayers.

  4. Can’t I transfer some assets to friends or family so I don’t have so much equity?

No, this is illegal, penalties far outweigh doing this.

  5. I’ve heard some tax liabilities just drop off as uncollectible, is this true?

Yes, the first thing we do is confirm the statute of limitation date on all obligations. It doesn’t make sense to pay on obligations if you know it is expiring in 6 months.

  6. Can I legally restructure some month’s cash flow before an offer in compromise?

Yes if you need a new car, okay this reduces cash, life insurance, okay this reduces cash, health insurance, okay this reduces cash.
